HISTORY |
The Love Schoolhouse was constructed in 1897 on the land donated by the
James and Rachel Love family who owned a farm in the immediate area. It
was the custom for schoolhouses to be named after the people who donated
the land. The building was used as a school until 1941. It was renovated
in 1961 and is now a residence. This structure is an example of the many
old schoolhouses in Erie County which are still being utilized for
residential and sometimes commercial purposes. |
